BrOtHeRs

It is so fun to watch the development of the brotherly bond between Haydn and Taite. Haydn is starting to come into his big brother role and Taite would follow Haydn anywhere. They are so much fun. I'm sure we will have many fights to referee in the future, but I love that the boys have a built in best friend. Wherever life takes us they will always have each other to lean on.

BoOkS

We all have a love of books. Recently I have gone to check on the boys during nap time and will find Haydn sitting quietly in his bed 'reading' books from his book shelf. I asked Haydn what his favorite book was and he said "all of them", and Taite likes books with animals. Riley doesn't actually read books - he just doesn't have time even though his list of books he'd like to read are a mile long. He does listen to books on tape if you count that as reading.

Cleaning house & blog inspiration

I have been going through pictures on my laptop as they are taking up WAY too much room and I ran across some I never posted on the blog that I love.

This picture is so Haydn. He loves to ROAR! Whenever he gets nervous he will roar to show you how tough he is.

And this is what happens when you accidentaly leave a box of tissues on the bed of your 1 year old while he goes down for a nap. Oh he is a handfull!
On to the inspiration - I have realized now that the summer is coming to a close, I don't have any children going to school and I no longer have a new born to report on I am in jeopardy of falling into a blogging slump. I have been working with Haydn on recognition of letters of the alphabet so I thought to go along with it I would do a blog post with each letter of the alphabet. Haydn LoVeS to look at the blog so I thought this would go along with it. We'll see how it goes.

{A}

a la mode: when the waitress asks "would you like that a la mode?" Don't you always think why of course! I really don't know why but "would you like that with ice cream?" just doesn't have the same ring.

I asked Riley what his favorite {A} word was and after he chukled about the obvious answer he said armadillo because it is so fun to say.

The boys love their alligator stuffed animal. Taite frequently uses it as a pillow. It is bigger than he is. Well that is a start hopefully I will get more creative as we go along.

A few new favorites

Grandma Snow came over for a minute on Saturday and Taite was not ready for her to leave. As soon as he noticed she was gone he headed straight for the window by our front door to tell her to come back. You need to stay longer next time Grandma.

Then what could be better than story time with Dad. Riley reads this book to the boys that Grandma & Grandpa Snow brought back from Scotland with his best Scotish accent. Lucky boys.

Happy Anniversary

August 16th was our 7 year anniversary. Crazy how time flies when you are having fun! To celebrate we went out to eat to our favorite restraunt, Painted Pony. At the restaurant Riley had planned for the waitress to bring out a bottle of Martinelli's so we could have a toast. Cute huh! After we went to Les Miserables at the Tuacahn. It was fabulous! I still have the music stuck in my head. If anyone has the soundtrack I would LOVE a copy. Heres to many more crazy and fun filled years!

Hair cuts!

All three of the boys (Riley being the biggest boy) got their haircut last week. This included Taite's very first haircut! I don't have any pictures of Haydn's first hair cut (no idea where my first time mom brain was on that one) so I was sure to bring along my camera this time.

Haydn requested his hair to be spiky like Preston's. We tried talking him out of it because getting his hair done everyday is not a highlight, but he was persistent. Like usual in the end he won. And doesn't he look cute.

It's official

I know I'm a few days late, but we wanted to make Taite's 1 year birthday official. We had a quiet celebration at home after all the partying we did earlier in the month. It mainly consisted of Riley and I reminiscing of that special day a year ago and all the special days since then. Tatie is such a wonderful part of our family. He brings so much laughter and adventure, but he is also very loving and affectionate, especially to his family.

Taite is soooo close to walking, he has 6 teeth, his first word is uh-oh, he likes to play with water, mom's laptop and whatever Haydn has. He loves fruit. His favorites are grapes, bananas, and applesauce. He loves to cuddle his face into his blanket and will not sleep without it.

We feel so lucky and blessed to have Tatie a part of our family. His first year is so memorable and I am so glad that I was able to stay home for part of it so I didn't miss out on all the wonderful moments. Taite, we look forward to watching you grow and can't wait for what the years will bring. Happy Birthday! Love, Mom & Dad

Humanitarian Project

Riley's mom brought up the supplies to color file folder games while we were up Hobble Creek Canyon. There is a need for some educational toys and games at orphanages throughout the world. I thought this was such a great idea that I wanted to share it with others that might be looking for service ideas. I don't know how to knit, quilt, sew or many other of those "pioneer woman" skills, but I can color with the best of them. July wrap-up

Wow July was such a busy month! After returning from Hobble Creek we (with the help of Riley's dad) gutted our back yard, put in a new sprinkler system, had curbing poured and laid new sod in one week. It was a big job especially if you add in the 100 + degree weather and the fact that we were all sick. The final product is wonderful and I am so excited to have a backyard that the kids can play in. Super huge thanks to Steve, we couldn't have done it without you.


In September when it cools down we are going to plant trees and shrubs around the grass and fill in with rock.

We finished laying sod on Friday. Early Saturday morning we loaded the kids in the car and started the 6 hour drive to Roosevelt for my 10 yr high school reunion. I had been on the fence about going to my reunion for the longest time. I only spent my senior year at union high in a town were most of the people all grew up together. I was sure I would show up and no one would remember who I was. It turns out I was wrong. I had a great time and got to see most of the friends I had made in the short time I lived there. I haven't been back to Roosevelt for several years, so it was so nice to go and see people and catch up. We stayed with the Nielsen's and had such a nice time. Haydn had a ball running around with Larry and Shelley's grandkids, jumping on the trampoline, and riding the horse. I know that we will not wait for the next reunion to go back again.








On our way home Sunday we took a detour up to Syracuse to see Brian and Jaime's new baby girl. She is so beautiful and such a blessing. I was able to take some pictures while there and I know the new parents are dying to see some so here is a sneak peak. I hope you like them.
