Baby Tag

I haven't ever done a tag before. I like to read them, I just don't like to talk about myself if not in the context of my family. I haven't ever written down my kids birth stories so I thought this would be a good opportunity to get down some details. (Clarification for my dad - #1 is for Haydn and #2 is Taite)

1- Where were you when you first found out you were pregnant?
#1- At the physical therapy school
#2- At home in St. George in the bathroom

2- Who was with you?
#1- no one
#2- Riley was sleeping

3- How did you find out that you were pregnant?
#1- the hospital called me. We had been trying to get pregnant for just about a year and I had two miscarriages in that time. I had gone to the doctor to start the initial testing process. When they did the blood test they ran a pregnancy test. They called me the next day and said my HCG levels were elevated and they wanted me to come in for another blood test because there was a possibility I could be pregnant. The hospital called the next day and said my #'s had almost tripled and I was definitely pregnant!!
#2- I had been sick with the flu and just wasn't getting better. Than it dawned on me at like 11:00 at night that I could be pregnant. Well once I have a thought in my head I HAVE to know the answer, so I sent Riley to the store for a pregnancy test. The box said that it was most accurate first thing in the morning and not wanting to risk a false answer I went to bed. By 4:00 in the morning I couldn't take it any longer. I took the test and waited what seemed like an eternity to find out my suspicions were true and I was pregnant!

4- What was your first reaction to finding out you were pregnant?
#1- Yipee!!
#2- Oh wow! It will be a boy and we will call him Taite.

5- Your Husbands reaction?
#1 - He didn't want me to get too excited until it was further along
#2 - He didn't believe me.

6- Who was the first person you told?
#1-Riley
#2- Riley

7- Did you plan to get pregnant?
#1- Yes
#2- Kind of - we had planned on starting to try in January and I was pregnant in November.

8- Was everybody happy for you? Hope so

9- Did you go out and celebrate? No, but we totally should have.

10- Did you want to find out the sex? Heck ya! I'm way too much of a control freak not to know.

11- What was the sex?
#1 Boy
#2 Boy

12- Did anyone throw you a baby shower?
#1- Yes
#2- No

13- If yes, who? My mom and sister, and sister-in-law Carolyn

14- Did you get any outfits at the baby shower that you just knew you weren't going to put on your baby? A yellow knit onesie set with ducks on it. Too girly for my boys.

#1- At the hospital
#2- At the hospital

24- Did your water break?
#1- after they broke it
#2- after they broke it

25- Who drove you to the hospital?

#2- Riley

26- Did you go early or late?

#2- so much epidural I couldn't feel my legs for 12 hours

30- Did you go Natural or have a c-section? No c-sections thanks

FaLL FaMiLy FuN

We went out to Barclay Sunday afternoon for some fun family time. We were lucky enough to see two trains while we were there. The boys had fun exploring and Mable had a blast running and running. We all mastered walking over cattle guards and got some fun pictures with railroad tracks. Did you know there aren't any railroad tracks in St. George?

It is a beautiful place and was quite and peaceful time together as a family. What could be better.

I have to add in FoOtBaLL!! Love it! Can't wait until the boys get older to enjoy it with me, since Riley doesn't have the attention span. Go Vikings!!

is for EvErYdAy moments. So frequently I look to the BIG moments to blog about, but recently I have been relishing in the eVeRyDaY moments. Things I don't want to EvEr forget.

  • Taite's open mouth kisses
  • The size of Haydn's hand in mine
  • Haydn's messy hair after waking up from a nap
  • Taite turning everything into a phone and saying "HI!"
  • Haydn's prayers where he blesses Mom, Dad, Mable, Otis, Burt & Taite. Always in that order.
  • Mom sandwich
  • Taite dancing
  • Mable sleeping
  • Otis in boxes
  • Little boys in feety pajamas

Feeding my new obsession!

I was able to attend another photography workshop this past weekend. It was a wonderful way to spend a day. Thanks to my sweetie for watching the boys ALL day!! Here are some of my favorite shots from the day.

We had some super cute models. I just loved this boy he was just darling.

I couldn't decide on these two.
This family was so cute and wait till you see this little guy in his cowboy outfit!

Too cute!
Isn't this location beautiful!

{D} was supposed to be for a family home evening at the Dinosaur Museum, but it was closed. This is the second time we have tried to go and it has been closed. Poor Haydn gets so excited. I guess we will have to go during the day without Dad. So as an alternate plan we went and played on the red hill and got a great view of DiXiE.

Here is my exhausting attempt at getting a picture of the boys together.

Taite playing kissy face with Daddy.

The other {D} for our family would be dAnCiNg. The boys and I love to turn the radio on and have a dance party in the living room. Dad joins in sometimes, but he only has one signature move. Taite is showing some definite rhythm. I caught him shaking his tail feather on video for you all to see.

{C}

Well this one should be obvious to anyone who knows Haydn. We will of course be starting the letter 'C' with CaRs. For the past year and a half Haydn has had a love bridging on obsession of cars. It is the most requested movie, he never leaves the house without one, two or more frequently four in his hands. We often comment that he carries his "fleet" with him. When Taite first started making noises the first one he made was the vroom of a car, most likely learned from his big brother. He had a Cars themed birthday when he turned two. If you ask him what he did that day he always replies, "I played cars." I was surprised to find that I didn't have any pictures of Haydn playing cars so this has been a good excuse to get some with his most favorite thing. I probably should have gotten him dressed cute, but these are authentic. Doesn't every kid run around naked on Sunday after taking off their church clothes?

Riley's 'C' word is ChRiStMaS!! Did you know there are 101 days until Christmas? Really I don't know many people who don't love Christmas, but Riley LoVeS Christmas. He loves the music, he loves the season, he loves the traditions, he loves the tree, he even doesn't complain about putting up Christmas lights. I love that there is a holiday that brings out the child in adults. I know that it will always be a special day and time of year at our house thanks to Riley.

Since it is Sunday I will add ChUrCh as another word. I am a pretty private person and usually don't talk about my testimony or conversion to the LDS church. (That is a strange statement considering I have a blog that strangers and anyone else can read) I guess talking about my children and reminiscing can make you sentimental. I just want to say that I am so thankful for my testimony and the gospel in my life and the lives of my family. It still catches my breath to hear my two year old say prayers, or think about the fact that I am sealed to my best friend for eternity and that our boys are sealed to us as an eternal family. For those of you that still belong to the church you grew up in it is difficult to explain. I have made a lot of wrong decisions in my life, but I am so grateful that this decision was the right one for me. Having such a strong belief in something gives me a strength and joy I never knew was possible. I will forever be grateful to those of you that played a part in my conversion and there were many. I know my husband and children thank you as well.

This is my studly, youngest brother! I still can't believe he is a Junior in High School. Click on the article to make it bigger. The write up is really nice.

BrOtHeRs
It is so fun to watch the development of the brotherly bond between Haydn and Taite. Haydn is starting to come into his big brother role and Taite would follow Haydn anywhere. They are so much fun. I'm sure we will have many fights to referee in the future, but I love that the boys have a built in best friend. Wherever life takes us they will always have each other to lean on.

BoOkS
We all have a love of books. Recently I have gone to check on the boys during nap time and will find Haydn sitting quietly in his bed 'reading' books from his book shelf. I asked Haydn what his favorite book was and he said "all of them", and Taite likes books with animals. Riley doesn't actually read books - he just doesn't have time even though his list of books he'd like to read are a mile long. He does listen to books on tape if you count that as reading.

Cleaning house & blog inspiration

I have been going through pictures on my laptop as they are taking up WAY too much room and I ran across some I never posted on the blog that I love.

This picture is so Haydn. He loves to ROAR! Whenever he gets nervous he will roar to show you how tough he is.

Both of my boys are blankey boys. I just love this one of Haydn all wrapped up in his.
And this is what happens when you accidentaly leave a box of tissues on the bed of your 1 year old while he goes down for a nap. Oh he is a handfull!
On to the inspiration - I have realized now that the summer is coming to a close, I don't have any children going to school and I no longer have a new born to report on I am in jeopardy of falling into a blogging slump. I have been working with Haydn on recognition of letters of the alphabet so I thought to go along with it I would do a blog post with each letter of the alphabet. Haydn LoVeS to look at the blog so I thought this would go along with it. We'll see how it goes.

{A}

a la mode: when the waitress asks "would you like that a la mode?" Don't you always think why of course! I really don't know why but "would you like that with ice cream?" just doesn't have the same ring.

I asked Riley what his favorite {A} word was and after he chukled about the obvious answer he said armadillo because it is so fun to say.

The boys love their alligator stuffed animal. Taite frequently uses it as a pillow. It is bigger than he is. Well that is a start hopefully I will get more creative as we go along.
