What are you up to?

Riley: He is moving into a new office in St. George and is very excited to not have to go into Hurricane anymore. They have a shower and gym in his building and a barber shop. So we should see a skinnier and less shaggy Riley with the move as well. This was just an added bonus. He is loving the water law work and is very busy. They have a summer clerk that plans on joining Sanders & Snow when he graduates next year.

Erika: I have gone from working 30 hrs/wk to doing PRN as a physical therapist. It took me a while to adjust, but I am loving being home more and the boys are MUCH happier. I do miss my cute pregnant patients, but I'm sure I will go back someday. Until then I am enjoying a life of story time, trips to the park and library, walks, and imaginary play.

Haydn: He is considering becoming potty trained. We are still in the negotiation phase. He has been going more frequently on the toilet, but still not ready to commit. His favorite color is orange. His favorite meal is chicken and corn. His new favorite toy is his bubble lawn mower. His love for cars is near obsession and doesn't seem to be fading.

Taite: He is pulling up to stand and cruising along furniture. He is very curious and into everything. He loves his brother and our cat and dog. He always races over to their dishes when they are eating so he can pet them while they are distracted. He is starting to pick up some signing. His favorite is "all done".

We have a pool!!

Well not really - Eric and Carolyn gave us their old sand box and we turned it into a pool for the summer. The boys had a blast playing in it this weekend.

Uncle Garrett made a quick stop in St. George on his way to Washington D.C. for a week and brought Haydn these awesome Japanese pajamas. We thought he looked like a jedi knight so he grabbed his light saber and showed off his mad skillz! Complete with sound effects.



In other news after 10 months Taite finally has a tooth! He has been growing up so much lately. He is pulling up to stand and will cruise along furniture. He has also developed the intrest in cars and loves to push a car back and forth making his Vrooom sounds.

Memorial Day Weekend

We had such a fun and busy Memorial Day weekend. We decided to get out of town and go up to Salt Lake for a few days. We loaded up and left Friday afternoon. Once we got to Riley's parents house we dropped off the boys and headed to IKEA. It was our first time going there and we had such a fun time. Besides adding a kitchen table and chairs to my wish list we bought the boys a car mat and a big stuffed alligator. Somehow Haydn has claimed both items. (What's his is his and what's ours is his)
Saturday we took Haydn to the Tracey Aviary to see the bird show and check out the birds and their babies. We also played at Liberty Park. Then after a nap we went to Discovery Gateway.




Sunday we had a mini photo shoot with my new nephew Maxwell.

Monday we had plans to go to the zoo, but the weather did not cooperate. We were able to help Aunt Summer move into her new condo and then meet her again that night for dinner.

Tuesday Riley, his mom and the boys went back to Tracey Aviary and rode the merry-go-round while I was getting my hair done.


It was a weekend filled with friends, family and our favorite food, but as always it was good to get home to Mable and Otis and our home.

Fathers and Sons

Riley and Haydn went to their first Fathers and Sons outing Friday night. They rode in the truck, had hot dogs and shot model rockets out on the sand dunes. They had a great time. Haydn liked playing in the sand the best. He even made 'sand angels'.



He was so filthy when he came home, he left a layer of red sand in the bathtub. He loved spending the one on one time with his dad and I know it is the beginning of tradition they will really enjoy.

Let the countdown begin!!! Yipee!!

You might be a redneck . . .

. . . if you spend your Saturday at a tRaCToR puLL!! This weekend was the 151st celebration of Cotton Days. I am still amazed that even with all the growth in Southern Utah it still has maintained a lot of small town roots. There were celebrations all week. Our favorites were the fireworks show monday night, the tractors in the park all week, the parade on Saturday followed by the fair in the park and of course the tractor pull.



My kids LOVE parades. Haydn chased after the candy while Taite danced to the marching bands. It is really the kick off to summer and we love going every year. This was our first time at the tractor pull and what an experience. I have uncles that are farmers and even living in Roosevelt I have never been to a tractor pull before. It was hillarious to see how serious these old men take their pulling. There is an entire traveling circuit so look out for a tractor pull coming near you.



The highlight was a childrens tractor pull that Haydn got to participate in. In the under 4 y/o category he got 3rd place. We were so proud and will be training for next year!! We wore the boys right out - Haydn even fell asleep on the way home with a sucker in his mouth!

Future race car driver

While Garrett and Dayna were still here we got to go down to the Snow Electric shop and have Brecken show us their team race cars. Haydn was in his element! He, Cannon and Eli took turns being driver or pit crew. Pretending to fill up the tires and putting gas in the tank. He even had the dirty hands to prove it.

9 Month Check-up

Taite had his 9 month check-up yesterday. I am beginning to dread going to the pediatrician. It seems like every time I think that Taite will be higher on the weight scale I am sorely disappointed. Once again this was the case. My little Taiter tot weighs in at a whopping 15.79 lbs (1%) and 26.97 inches (11%). When he was born he was 30% for weight and 94% for height. I am clearly doing something wrong. I am nursing 3x/day and the other 3x he is eating solids. He eats 1/2 cup of rice or oatmeal baby cereal at a sitting plus a serving of fruits or vegetables. Last night we introduced chicken and he did well with that as well. I am at a total loss. I'm sure if I gave him formula he would fatten up, but the poor kid throws up every kind I have tried. Plus, isn't breast milk supposed to be best?! My pediatrician says he isn't worried and even told me they call what he is doing delayed onset weight gain, but I am thinking that he needs to deliver on the onset part of the weight gain. On top of our continued struggle with trying to get him to gain weight (boy, I wish I had this problem) we found out that his iron was low. Now that IS like his mom. Riley's solution was to feed him steak and butter - do you think it will work?


Otherwise his development is good. He is crawling like a pro and starting to get into mischief. The picture is of him crawling out from behind the t.v. I love it. I know you are supposed to get upset when they play in the dog water or pull out the clothes you just folded in the clothes basket, but seeing his adventurous spirit is so much fun.

Holy Ghost

Yesterday my adorable niece Katie was baptized. So when we were out shopping for a gift for her I was explaining to Haydn that Uncle Eric would baptize her and then she would receive the Holy Ghost. Later that night when he was getting ready for bed he threw his blanket over his head and said, "Mom, look I'm the Holy Ghost!" Too funny!! At least I know he was listening.

More fun with the cousins

We took the kids to the splash park by the library on Tuesday. Which was great since it got up to 90 degrees! They had a great time running around in the water. I love the picture where Haydn has his arm around Lindsey. Too cute. It was so fun to have all the cousins together. They all had a great time and played so well together.
